Lakeside parents: Just a reminder that your student has been working on a presentation for our virtual Student-Led Conferences. Be sure to ask your student to show that to you on the Chromebook. On the last slide, there is an electronic signature page to verify that the parent has seen the presentation. There is also information on how to schedule a conference if you are interested in talking directly to any of your student's teachers.
From Springdale School District transportation department: Due to a shortage of drivers this morning, bus 122 serving Lakeside Junior High will not be running at all today. Again, bus 122 serving Lakeside Junior High will not run at all today. SLC message
Lakeside parents,
Your student has been working on a Student-Led Conference presentation in their homeroom classes. This year, we will not have Fall conferences in-person with teachers. Instead, students will show you their presentation at home on their chromebook.
In the presentation, you will find email addresses for each of your student’s teachers. Teachers will be available on Monday and Thursday nights next week (Sept 14 and 17) from 4pm to 7pm if you would like to schedule a phone or zoom conference with a teacher. The teacher can schedule for another time if Monday or Thursday will not work.
Please ask your student to show you their student-led conference presentation this weekend, and feel free to email any teachers that you would like to conference with to set up a time to do that.
The federal school meals program has announced that schools may offer free school meals to ALL students through December 31, 2020. Beginning immediately, no students will be charged for school meals through Dec 31, 2020. HOWEVER... for students who receive free/reduced lunches, it is still important to return the free/reduced application by NEXT WEEK to continue to receive free or reduced lunches after December. There will be no grace period in January and students who have not returned a form will be charged starting Jan. 2, so please turn in your forms ASAP!!

First day of school is Monday, August 24th! A few things to know:
1) Students who get dropped off at school should use the North Gym entrance. This is the car rider entrance for students. Please do not use the circle drive in the front or the front entrance to drop off students unless they are checking in during the day.
2) If you need bus information, go to: go.sdale.org/transportation
3) Students who arrive before 8:30 will go to the cafeteria and wait there. At 8:30, we will dismiss students to their homeroom class where they will get their schedule and more information about how the first few days will work. We will have LOTS of adults in the cafeteria to help students know where their homeroom class is and who is their HR teacher.

First day of school (Monday, Aug 24): Students should be contacted next week by their Homeroom teacher by phone, text, or email to let them know where to go on the first day of school. Student schedules will be handed out on the first day in Homerooms. Students who arrive at school prior to 8:30 will report to the cafeteria, and at 8:30 all students will go to their Homeroom class. If you don't hear from your homeroom teacher, please email the principal, Dr. Shepherd, at mshepherd@sdale.org and we'll make sure you are contacted.
