This week our K–2 enrichment groups went on a shape and pattern adventure! 🔸🔺🔹 They discovered patterns all around us and engaged in exploration with natural specimens, including plants, rocks, and bugs, each of which was full of amazing designs from our world!🌿 #SpringdaleFamily

🌿 Our 5th graders dived into their ecosystem unit this week! They explored food chains through a fun, collaborative game that showed how all living things are connected. 🐇🦅🌱 #SpringdaleFamily

✨ As we continue to cultivate curiosity among our Wildcats, we’ve launched our first Wonder Wednesday! Today, we were thrilled to welcome the Rooted Movement Collective, who inspired our students through school-wide interactive performances and led engaging workshops with our 3rd–5th graders. It was a day full of creativity, movement, and discovery—sparking our students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for learning! 🌟 Support for Rooted Movement Collective is provided, in part, by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Arkansas Department of Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. #SpringdaleFamily

✨ Our 1st graders kicked off their engineering unit today! They became light explorers by testing how flashlights shine through different materials, designing glowing patterns on the light table, and creating shadows with LEGOs. 💡 This unit will guide them toward designing their own night lights, making real-world connections between physical science and engineering! #SpringdaleFamily

Our kindergarten Wildcats kicked off their engineering unit with some bright ideas! ☀️ They explored shadows with flashlights, created designs with shapes at the light tables, and even built their own Play-Doh suns. Along the way, they discovered how the sun warms us up and how shade helps keep us cool and comfortable! #SpringdaleFamily

The Wonder Lab was purring with ideas today! 🐾 2nd and 5th graders wowed us with their creativity. Special shout-out to these clever cats for their paws-itively amazing creations!

Walker is the Greatest School! 🎪✨ This morning, our teachers wowed students with a performance inspired by The Greatest Showman. We’re so thankful for our incredible staff who go above and beyond to show students that they have limitless potential and can always reach for the stars! 🌟 #SpringdaleFamily

Walker staff had some special guests at our meeting today—Mr. Derek Ratchford from the AR Game & Fish Commission and the nature center’s alligator! 🐊 We’re excited to partner with the AR Game & Fish Commission through their Conservation Leadership Program. The AR Outdoor Education Initiative will help our students develop critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills while exploring the outdoors and strengthening STEM learning opportunities for all students! #SpringdaleFamily

Reminder: Today (Wednesday) is an early out day. K-5 students dismiss at 1:50 PM to allow teachers time for Collaborative Team Meetings focused on student learning. Please plan for an earlier pick-up!

Engineering fun in the Wonder Lab! Today, our 1st and 4th graders jumped into the hands-on engineering challenges, and we can’t wait to see what all of our Wildcats will create in their upcoming engineering units! -Kindergarteners will design their own hats 🎩 -1st Graders will create night lights 💡 -2nd Graders will build sails ⛵ -3rd Graders will design magnetic doors 🧲 -4th Graders will create safety vests 🦺 -5th Graders will engineer plastic filters 🌊 Their creativity is just getting started!

Happy First Day of School! Our kindergarten and 3rd graders were little engineers today in the Wonder Lab! They built bridges, designed towers, and tested their creations! 🏗️✨ #SpringdaleFamily
